NICE, SUNNY WEDNESDAY; RAIN RETURNS THIS WEEKEND… Plenty of sunshine is expected on this Wednesday across the local area. High temperatures will peak in the low-70s by 3PM. More sunshine is expected on Thursday before clouds begin increasing in number on Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will return to the area late Saturday into Sunday as a cold front approaches from the north. Let’s look at a few details…
NICE FEW DAYS AHEAD… Today, Thursday, and much of the day on Friday will be *quite* nice with increasing temperatures likely each day. We’re expecting low-70s this afternoon, but we’ll quickly rise into the upper-70s by Friday. Sunshine should be plentiful through Friday morning. Clouds will become more numerous on Friday evening.
WARM SATURDAY WITH STORMS POSSIBLE IN EVENING… Highs on Saturday could easily hit the 80 degree mark in most spots. This surge of warm air from the south is out ahead of an advancing cold front that will move across our region on Sunday morning, ushering in cooler, drier air. Before that stable air moves in, we will likely have a round of showers and thunderstorms late Saturday into Sunday. Severe weather parameters remain LOW, for now. We’ll keep watching parameters and bring you the latest here on Facebook and in the RedZone Weather app over the next few days.
MUCH COOLER ON SUNDAY… High temperatures will only be in the upper-60s on Sunday after the passage of the cold front. Stratifrom rain/showers may linger into the evening hours of Sunday and into Monday morning. Rain will likely move out on Monday afternoon/evening.
JOIN ME ON TELEVISION TONIGHT… It’s a special “one night deal.” If you’re in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Anniston, or anywhere in the Birmingham, AL television market, I hope you’ll join me tonight on WVUA23 News at 5, 6, and 10PM. Meteorologist Richard Scott is off today and I’m honored to provide some much-needed relief to the WVUA Weather Team. Don’t worry – I’m not going anywhere as RedZone Weather is (and will be for a LONG time!) home. It is nice to have the opportunity to “keep my feet wet” in the TV world, however. Hope you’ll join us tonight.
