STRONG STORMS OFFSHORE; SHOWERS INLAND… Heavy rain and thunderstorms are happening near the northwest Florida beaches on this Friday afternoon. There has been some lightning output over the last few hours, particularly in the storms offshore. So far, we haven’t had any severe weather for inland areas. Showers continue near Appleton, Damascus, Molino, Chumuckla, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, Chunchula, and Stapleton. There could be an isolated waterspout offshore over the next few hours. We note the tornado risk for land areas remains VERY low, if not zero in most spots. Some of the storms that happen closer to the coast over the next few hours may produce gusty winds.
I’ll keep monitoring radar trends and bring you the very latest here in the RZWeather app.
