TORNADO WATCH CANCELLED; SEVERE WEATHER RISK IS ENDING… The severe weather risk is rapidly ending across southwest Alabama and northwest Florida. Storms across eastern Covington, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties are about to clear out to the east. The tornado watch has been cancelled for all local counties, including Covington, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties (despite the counties being shaded in yellow in the graphic above).
DAMAGING TORNADO IN TROY, ALABAMA… In the last hour, there has been extensive damage in parts of Troy, Alabama with possible injuries due to a tornado that moved through. I don’t have specifics, but there are many photos floating around on Twitter showing damage in Troy. NWS Birmingham is also confirming numerous reports of damage.
CLOUDS CLEAR OUT TO THE EAST LATER TODAY… Mostly cloudy skies will continue this morning before clearing skies happen later today. Temperatures will peak around 78° before cooler, drier air moves in tonight. Overnight lows on Monday morning will be around 43° in most spots.
