HOT TUESDAY; LOW RAIN CHANCES THIS AFTERNOON… Plenty of heat and humidity will be present across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. High temperatures will peak in the 94-96° range in most spots. There could be an isolated storm or two around this afternoon or this evening, but the overall coverage of showers and thunderstorms will be limited compared to previous days. High pressure is building in, meaning storms will struggle to form over the next day or two.
SHOWERS & STORMS MORE NUMEROUS INTO THE WEEKEND… Rain chances will progressively rise starting on Friday. Unfortunately, early model indications point to Saturday and Sunday seeing quite a few showers and thunderstorms. It won’t be an “all day washout” on either day, but there will be an increased amount of storms around in the afternoon and evening hours.
NO TROPICAL STORM FORMATION EXPECTED… The National Hurricane Center says tropical storm formation is not expected over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of the Atlantic hurricane season happens September 11.
