GUSTY WINDS LIKELY ON DIP RIGHT NOW… Gusty (35-45mph) winds are likely happening along Dauphin Island Parkway (DIP) in southern Mobile County near Goat Island, Sunny Cove, and Mon Louis, just to the east of Bellingrath Gardens right now. Definitely the right call on the part of the local National Weather Service to issue this severe thunderstorm warning for those areas as the storm may have briefly ramped up to severe levels with winds at or above 60mph. The core of this storm will move over Mobile Bay in the next 5-10 minutes where multiple waterspouts will be possible. A Special Marine Warning is in effect for Mobile Bay and areas near Dauphin Island. We’ll need to monitor this storm carefully as it approaches the Fort Morgan Peninsula of Baldwin County over the next 30 minutes.
