CORE RISK ON MONDAY TO OUR NORTHWEST… The latest convective outlook from the Storm Prediction Center valid for Monday, October 21 shows the standard, Level 2 (out of 5) slight risk in place for parts of northwest Alabama, much of Mississippi, northern Louisiana, eastern Tennessee, and eastern Arkansas. All of our local area in south Alabama and northwest Florida is included in the Level 1, low-end, marginal severe weather risk. This means that an isolated strong storm or two will be possible, but widespread severe weather issues are NOT likely locally. We still will need to be on guard for an isolated tornado or two on Monday, but the latest model guidance suggests more of a damaging wind risk as an eastward-advancing squall line moves in from the west. The main risk locally will happen from 2PM to 9PM Monday. I’ll have more details later today in the next regularly-scheduled forecast video that will be posted by 2PM. See you then!
