CLOUDY & MILD MONDAY; TROPCIAL STORM BETA MOVES TOWARD TEXAS… Mostly cloudy skies with a few showers are expected across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Monday. High temperatures will be near 75 in most locales. Some spots that have a bit more in the way of sunshine might approach 80 degrees this afternoon. We continue to track Tropical Storm Beta in the western Gulf of Mexico. Beta is expected to make landfall along the Texas coastline some time later today or tonight. Our area could have a few showers and thunderstorms as the remnants of Beta exit to the northeast on Thursday. Significant local impacts in south Alabama and northwest Florida are not expected because of Beta.
CLOUDS HANG TOUGH THIS WEEK… Mainly cloudy skies are expected each day this week as our area will be on the northeastern side of the clouds being sheared off of Tropical Storm Beta. Tuesday is expected to be a dry day, but there could be isolated showers on Wednesday, followed by an increase in the amount of storms on Thursday.
ISOLATED STRONG STORMS MAY BECOME POSSIBLE THURSDAY… What is left of Tropical Storm Beta will slide by to our northwest (as the system moves northeast). This potentially could allow a low-end, marginal severe weather risk to set up near or just to the west of our local area on Thursday. This is a potential we’ll be watching in the days ahead. I’ll bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.
