70% CHANCE OF NEW TROPICAL STORM FORMING; MUCH COOLER OVERNIGHT… The National Hurricane Center continues to increase the formation chance for an area of disturbed weather, currently located in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The system is expected to move into the western Caribbean Sea this weekend into early next week and potentially develop into a tropical storm. NHC puts the odds of that happening at a 70% chance as of 7:30PM Thursday. There is honestly more we don’t know at this point compared to what we do know. Some of the global weather models ramp this up to a tropical storm, while others don’t develop the system much at all. Some models show movement to the northwest, some to the north, and others show movement into central America. Bottom line: It’s too early to draw conclusions about where this developing storm may end up. At this stage for Alabama and northwest Florida, this is simply something to be aware of and not something to stress about.
COOLER TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT… Most spots across the inland areas of southwest Alabama will dip into the upper-40s by 6AM on Friday. Locales closer to the coast will likely be in the low-50s by daybreak. Mostly clear skies are expected overnight.
MAINLY SUNNY, NICE FRIDAY… Other than the potential for a few passing clouds in the morning, Friday is slated to be sunny and quite nice. High temperatures will be in the upper-60s and near 70 in many spots locally. If you’re planning to attend a high school football game tomorrow evening, I would suggest grabbing a light jacket. Kickoff temperatures will be in the 60-63° range at 7PM with temps falling into the mid-50s by the 4th quarter of many of the games. Clear skies are expected.
SUNNY HALLOWEEN SATURDAY; PERFECT FOR EVENING EVENTS… Temperatures will peak in the mid-70s on both Saturday and Sunday. All of the trick-or-treating and evening Halloween events on Saturday will feature nice weather with temperatures in the 60s.
MILD DAYS, COOL NIGHTS NEXT WEEK… Some of our coolest temperatures of the fall season yet are expected to happen Monday morning and Tuesday morning with overnight lows expected to be in the low- to mid-40s. Highs will be in the mid-60s Monday ahead of 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Sunshine is expected each day. Nice!
