SUNNY, COOL WEEKEND; BREEZY THIS AFTERNOON… Mostly sunny and cooler conditions are likely on this Friday. Some spots overnight, especially closer to the coast, had a few showers around 1AM and 2AM this morning. The rain has now moved to our east. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-50s today. There could be wind gusts as high as 20-25 mph at times this afternoon due to a strong west wind behind the cold front that moved by earlier this morning. The wind will subside as we get into the evening hours. Overnight lows in the mid-30s by daybreak Saturday foreshadow an even colder morning on Sunday when lows will likely be in the upper-20s. Plenty of sunshine is expected on both Saturday and on Sunday. Let’s look at all of your Friday forecast details.

AN UPDATE ON CANDY… I was blown away at the outpouring of prayers and kind words for my Aunt Candy, who had a kidney transplant last night. I am thankful to be able to report that Candy had a successful transplant surgery and now has a functioning donor kidney. My family and I certainly appreciate each and every prayer and every kind comment. Thank you all so much! Original post here.

MAINLY SUNNY ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY… Other than a few passing clouds on Sunday evening, the weekend looks fantastic. Sunshine is expected on Saturday and on Sunday with high temperatures likely to be in the 50s each day. Overnight lows will be below freezing in many spots on Sunday morning, with communities farther inland near the U.S. Highway 84 corridor likely to be in the upper-20s.

FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT… Rain chances are very low (0-10%) on Sunday night, but not completely zero. There could be a few passing showers, similar to what happened last night when only a few locales near the coast had rain. Skies should rapidly clear out for Monday.

MOSTLY SUNNY MONDAY AND TUESDAY… Mostly sunny conditions are expected for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday on Monday. High temperatures will be in the upper-50s. Tuesday will be quite similar with highs slated to be a bit warmer. Most spots will rise into the low-60s with a full supply of sunshine.

SHOWERS RETURN WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY… Rain chances will rise on Wednesday into Thursday as a cold front approaches our region from the northwest. It is too early to know if thunderstorms will be involved, but it does appear temperatures could be poised to be near 70 by Thursday. This is a trend we will closely monitor over the next few days.
