HAPPY THANKSGIVING! MILD TODAY; COLD AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT… Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and your friends. I hope everyone has a blessed day. On this Thanksgiving Day, our warmest temperatures of the week are set to happen. High temperatures will be in the low-70s across the entire region. Clouds will increase in coverage today ahead of our next cold front, slated to move by tomorrow. A few showers may happen at times today into tonight, but rain chances will remain low in the daytime hours today.
COLD FRONT TO MOVE BY OVERNIGHT; SHOWERS POSSIBLE… A few showers could happen at times today, although I expect most communities to remain dry until we get into the late evening hours. A band of showers will gradually move southeast in the overnight hours, bringing with it the highest chance of rain for the entire local area.
MUCH COLDER ON FRIDAY… Keep those jackets handy for Black Friday, especially if you’re headed out early to do some shopping. High temperatures will struggle to get out of the upper-50s tomorrow. Winds will be out of the north at 10-15 mph throughout the day on Friday.
NICE, MOSTLY SUNNY SATURDAY… Locally, we are calling for high temperatures in the low-60s on Saturday. Partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day.
IRON BOWL FORECAST… No changes needed for the forecast for the Iron Bowl. Sunny skies are expected on Saturday in Auburn, AL at Jordan-Hare Stadium as the Alabama Crimson Tide comes to town take on the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl. Despite full sunshine expected, temperatures will be quite chilly. Game time temperatures will be in the upper-50s and near 60 at kickoff. Upper-40s are likely by the end of the game. Keep those jackets and gloves handy!
FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… Our next rain chance (after tonight) happens on Sunday, particularly in the morning hours. While rain amounts will likely (again) generally be light, most communities will probably have at least some rain before the end of the day on Sunday. It won’t be an “all day washout” day, but scattered showers are likely at times.
SUNNY EARLY NEXT WEEK… Mostly sunny skies are expected early next week on Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-60s with morning lows near 40. No signs of any significant severe weather events. It has been a fairly quiet secondary tornado season so far. Let’s hope December remains just as quiet!
TROPICS QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean remain quiet with no tropical storms or hurricanes expected to develop through the weekend. The 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season ends one week from today on Tuesday, November 30.
