NUMEROUS STORMS AROUND TODAY; TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… Scattered thunderstorms will cause pockets of heavy rain to happen across the region on this Wednesday, particularly this afternoon into the evening hours. Some of the storms may be particularly loud at times. Cloud-to-ground lightning, loud thunder, heavy rain, and gusty winds will be possible in the strongest of the storms. Fortunately, there is no tornado risk locally or anywhere close by today. The days ahead will feature more in the way of pop-up thunderstorms in the P.M. hours.
POP-UP STORMS TO BE MOST NUMEROUS IN AFTERNOON HOURS… No real changes to report in the extended forecast as we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. High temperatures are slated to be around the 90 degree mark with morning lows in the low-70s. This seemingly continuous weather pattern will continue for the foreseeable future.
TROPICS QUIET, FOR NOW… The North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The longer range models continue to show quiet conditions across the Atlantic Basin into early next week, thankfully. The climatological peak of hurricane season will happen in mid-September.
