HEAT, HUMIDITY, P.M. STORMS – RINSE & REPEAT… Scattered pop-up thunderstorms will again define our weather pattern on this Thursday. Most of the thunderstorms will happen in the peak heating hours today between 11AM and 7PM. While not every community across our local area will have rain before the end of the day, some inevitably will. High temperatures will be in the low-90s today. No real changes to report in the forecast logic over the next several days: Scattered storms will continue to develop in the afternoon and evening hours into the weekend and early next week. Seasonal (hot) temperatures will prevail into mid-August.

TROPICS CONTINUE TO BE QUIET, FOR NOW… The North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The longer range models continue to show quiet conditions across the Atlantic Basin into early next week, thankfully. The climatological peak of hurricane season will happen in mid-September.
