SLIGHTLY COOLER, DRIER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT; LOWS NEAR 60° BY DAYBREAK TUESDAY… We finally have multiple days of drier conditions in the forecast along with cooler temperatures set to arrive tonight! A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible on this Monday, particularly in areas south of I-10 closer to the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. Slightly cooler, slightly drier air will take hold of our weather pattern tonight. Overnight lows by Tuesday morning will be near 60 degrees in most spots across the region. Mostly sunny days are ahead Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A few more Monday morning forecast notes are below.
ISOLATED STORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING… A few thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon into this evening across the region. While rain chances are not exactly zero anywhere across the region today, communities with the greatest chance of showers and thunderstorms are in areas south of Interstate 10. Most of the showers and thunderstorms will happen from 3PM to 9PM today.
COOLER TEMPS TUESDAY MORNING… Overnight lows tonight into Tuesday morning and again on Wednesday morning will be in the low- to mid-60s for nearly all communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Some spots farther inland near Coffeeville, Thomasville, Beatrice, and Greenville may briefly be in the upper-50s by daybreak tomorrow morning.
WARM DAYS, MILD NIGHTS THROUGH THURSDAY… Mostly sunny skies (with very little to NO rain chances) are expected Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. For the first time in months, we have streak of nice, dry days ahead. High temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-80s each day.
FEW STORMS RETURN THIS WEEKEND… The drier pattern setting up for much of the week will begin to change on Friday and into the upcoming weekend when our area will have a southerly wind off the Gulf again take hold of our weather pattern. Rain chances will begin to slightly increase on Friday into Saturday when pop-up showers and thunderstorms will again be possible. High temperatures will be in the upper-80s this weekend with morning lows in the upper-60s.
TROPICAL UPDATE… The National Hurricane Center has issued the final advisory on Hurricane Earl. The remnants of Earl are located in the northern Atlantic Ocean near Newfoundland. The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5 days. A tropical wave near Africa will move west into the eastern Atlantic Ocean in the days ahead. That particular tropical wave has a 10-20% chance of becoming a tropical storm as a general westward movement continues.
