SEVERE STORM NEAR QUITMAN, MS… The thunderstorm approaching Quitman, Mississippi has a history of producing a confirmed tornado near Bay Springs in the last 30-45 minutes. This storm is basically moving due east. This means it will end up in Choctaw County, Alabama in 45-60 minutes. It looks like the core of this storm may stay *just* to the north of Clarke County, AL but it will be a close call. Any deviation of the storm to the right/south of the mean flow means the storm may end up in northern Clarke County, AL in about 90 minutes.
Folks in Choctaw, Marengo, Clarke, Monroe, Dallas, and Wilcox counties should pay close attention to this storm. While the air is a bit less unstable across west Alabama compared to east Mississippi, severe weather hazards will be possible.
