STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT; GUSTY WINDS POSSIBLE IN STRONGER STORMS… Multiple clusters of strong to severe storms have developed this evening across parts of north Alabama and north Mississippi. Some of these thunderstorms may reach parts of south Alabama and northwest Florida overnight into Monday morning. While the overall tornado risk remains quite low, the risk of damaging wind gusts is a bit higher across the local area. Small hail may also accompany the stronger storms in addition to heavy rain, cloud-to-ground lightning and loud thunder. I will have rolling updates posted in the RedZone Weather app as needed.
The attached view highlights the 3KM North American Model (NAM) projected radar view valid at 2AM. A separate complex of storms may move south across the western half of the local area later in the morning hours.
Have a nice Sunday evening!
