INCREASED RAIN CHANCES THIS WEEK… Pop-up showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous each day over the next 3-4 days. Thunderstorms that pop up this afternoon will move slowly and drift northeast. There is approximately a 4 in 10 chance that your community gets wet before the end of the day on this Monday. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s with heat index values in the mid-100s. Temperatures won’t be AS hot as previous days, but our local temps WILL be slightly above our climatological norms for this time of year. Temperatures will be closer to our seasonal norms later this week. Still hot and humid but not oppressively hot like the last few days.

FIREWORKS FORECAST – TOMORROW EVENING… Independence Day will be hot, humid, with a chance of pop-up showers and thunderstorms. That is pretty much exactly what should be expected every 4th of July across our local area, with this year being no exception. If you are headed out to a fireworks display tomorrow evening, be aware that showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Not every community will have rain before the end of the day, but some inevitably will. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-90s tomorrow.

HEAT, HUMIDITY, P.M. STORMS THIS WEEK… Seasonal, summer conditions are expected for the remainder of the week and into the upcoming weekend. Higher rain chances are likely Thursday, Friday, into Saturday with scattered to numerous pop-up storms being likely. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-90s with morning lows in the low- to mid-70s each day.

TROPICS QUIET, FOR NOW… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of hurricane season happens on September 11. The 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season will end on November 30.
