SUNNY, WARM TUESDAY; COOLER TEMPS COMING SATURDAY… Temperatures will be around the 90 degree mark this afternoon with full sunshine expected throughout the day on this Tuesday. We have more warm days in the forecast through Friday ahead of sharply cooler air set to arrive behind an advancing cold front early Saturday morning. High temperatures on Saturday will be near 80 with 70s likely for afternoon highs on Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately, we don’t have any significant rain in the forecast and our drought situation across the region continues to worsen each day.
TROPICAL STORM PHILIPPE MOVING NORTH… Tropical Storm Philippe will never be a direct threat to Alabama or northwest Florida. The system is now moving north, away from the Leeward Islands. Impacts in parts of the northern Lesser Antilles will continue today into tonight as much of the convection associated with Philippe continues to be sheared to the southeastern side of the storm.
GULF & CARIBBEAN REMAIN QUIET, FOR NOW… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet for now. No tropical storms are expected to develop over the next 5-7 days in the Gulf or the Caribbean Sea.
