ANOTHER COLD NIGHT AHEAD; CHANCE OF RAIN NEXT WEEK… Sunny skies are expected all day across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. High temperatures will be in the mid-60s. Temperatures won’t be AS cold tonight compared to the last two nights but most communities will likely be in the 30s by daybreak on Friday. Full sunshine is expected tomorrow and into the weekend. We have a glorious fall weekend ahead with highs slated to be in the 70s.
A FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE BY MIDWEEK… Finally, we have some rain in the 7 Day Forecast! Showers will become possible Tuesday and particularly on Wednesday as a frontal boundary moves in from the northwest. While rain amounts probably won’t be particularly high, every bit of rain helps the ongoing extreme drought conditions at this point. We will have more specifics on the rain potential next week in the days ahead.
TROPICAL DISTURBANCE IN CARIBBEAN SEA… The odds of development associated with the tropical disturbance in the central Caribbean Sea continue to lessen as the system moves westward. The National Hurricane Center indicates there is now only a 30-40% chance of the system becoming a named tropical storm over the next day or two. From NHC: “A trough of low pressure is producing limited shower and thunderstorm activity while moving westward over the central Caribbean Sea. Environmental conditions could become a little more conducive for some development of this disturbance over the next couple of days before it moves inland over Central America by this weekend. Regardless of development, this system has the potential to produce heavy rains over portions of Central America late this week and into the weekend.”
