COOL DAYS, COLD NIGHTS THROUGH MIDWEEK; RAIN & STORMS BY FRIDAY… Keep the jackets close by today as high temperatures will only be in the upper-50s across much of the region on this Monday. Partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day on this Monday. More sunshine is in store for Tuesday and Wednesday but temperatures will continue to be rather chilly with highs in the 50s and 60s. Overnight lows will be in the 30s over the next few mornings with Wednesday morning likely to feature temperatures near or just below freezing.
LOWS NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING…Temperatures will be at or just below the freezing mark in many communities across the region on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Some locales farther inland may briefly get down to 27-28°, particularly near places like Thomasville, Monroeville, Beatrice, and Greenville.
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY FRIDAY INTO WEEKEND… An area of low pressure is expected to develop to our west later this week and ultimately move across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Friday or into the upcoming weekend. Some scenarios point to the potential for strong to severe storms being possible across parts of the Deep South on Friday or Saturday. It is a bit too early for specifics but something we will be monitoring over the next several days.
