LOWS NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TONIGHT; RAIN & STORMS THIS WEEKEND… Tonight will be the coldest night of the week with overnight lows in the 20s in many communities across inland areas of southwest Alabama. Before we get there, a chilly Tuesday is on tap with skies becoming sunny throughout the day. High temperatures will only be in the upper-50s in many communities across the region. Temperatures will rebound in the days ahead with Wednesday and Thursday likely featuring highs in the 60s.
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY FRIDAY INTO WEEKEND… Beneficial rain is in the forecast on Friday and into the weekend with multiple rounds of rain and storms being likely. The first round of rain and thunderstorms is likely on Friday when scattered showers and thunderstorms will move from southwest to northeast across the region. There is a chance we may have a few stronger thunderstorms around, particularly in communities closer to the coast. High temperatures on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be in the 70s with morning lows in the 50s and 60s.
TROPICS QUIET; HURRICANE SEASON ENDS THURSDAY… The entirety of the Atlantic Basin, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, remains quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 7 days. The tropics are likely “done for the year.” The 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially end this Thursday, November 30.
