CLOUDY TODAY; RAIN & STORMS MOVE THRU TUESDAY NIGHT… Skies will be mostly cloudy across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Monday. While I cannot completely rule out a sprinkle or two across the region, rain chances will remain quite low throughout the day and into the overnight hours. Our next notable chance of rain and thunderstorms happens tomorrow (Tuesday) night into early Wednesday morning. For now, the overall threat of any severe storms remains quite low. The end of the week looks QUITE nice with plenty of sunshine in store from Thursday through Sunday.
WARM TEMPS TODAY AND TUESDAY… Cloudy skies will persist today, tonight, and into tomorrow. High temperatures on this Monday will be above our climatological norms for this time of year with most spots peaking in the mid-80s this afternoon. Overnight lows will be in the 60s tonight ahead of highs in the 80s again tomorrow.
LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK TUESDAY NIGHT… The overall risk of any severe weather this week is quite low, but if any strong to severe storms happen, Tuesday night into the very early morning hours of Wednesday is the timeframe. The Storm Prediction Center has included much of Alabama and northwest Florida in their low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk zone. There are big question marks as to just how far south severe weather issues will happen. We note that far north Alabama and much of Tennessee are involved in the Level 2 (out of 5) risk where better dynamics are in place to support stronger (and severe) storms. Locally, I suspect most spots will simply have rain and thunderstorms at times Tuesday night. Rain amounts will probably end up in the 0.1″ to 0.75″ in nearly all areas as storms will probably be spotty in nature. Rain clears out very early Wednesday.
CLEARING SKIES WEDNESDAY… Wednesday morning will feature clearing skies from west to east. I expect the afternoon hours of Wednesday to be mostly sunny. High temperatures on Wednesday will only be in the low-70s after the passage of the cold front.
GORGEOUS END TO THE WEEK… Thursday, Friday, Saturday, a Sunday look QUITE nice. Sunny skies are in the forecast each day with high temperatures slated to be in the low- to mid-70s. Overnight lows will be in the low- to mid-40s. Looking forward to the beautiful weather later this week!
