A FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE INLAND LATER TODAY; WARM WEEKEND… Most locales across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry today but a few spots may have showers before the end of the day, particularly farther inland. No severe storms are expected locally today or into the weekend. Temperatures will be in the 80s for afternoon highs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Passing clouds are likely at times this weekend, but rain chances will generally remain quite low, if not zero in most spots.
FEW CLOUDS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… Skies may end up being a bit more cloudy this weekend that current guidance indicates. I am still expecting quite a bit of sunshine on both Saturday and Sunday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the low-80s each day with morning lows in the low-60s. Rain is not expected on Saturday or Sunday.
ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE EARLY NEXT WEEK… While I do not see any signs of impending severe storms, there will be a chance of a few passing showers on Monday into Tuesday. The rain won’t last all day on Monday or Tuesday but scattered showers will be possible. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s early next week.
10% CHANCE OF TROPICAL STORM FORMING IN THE OPEN ATLANTIC… The National Hurricane Center issued a special tropical weather outlook due to an area of low pressure located about 900 miles northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This area of low pressure has been persistently producing showers and thunderstorms since yesterday morning. Stronger upper-level winds will likely prohibit the system becoming a named tropical storm. Regardless of if formal development happens, the system will likely remain well away from land areas. The system will never directly affect Alabama or northwest Florida.
