HOT & HUMID 4TH OF JULY WITH SCATTERED STORMS AROUND; BERYL THREATENS MEXICO… High temperatures will be in the mid-90s this afternoon with heat index values as high as 110-112° in some spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day with the greatest coverage of thunderstorms happening from 1PM to 7PM. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but some of the storms will be loud at times and produce cloud-to-ground lightning. We have a fairly consistent weather pattern in store over the next several days locally. Hurricane Beryl likely will never be a direct threat to Alabama or northwest Florida, but the storm does pose a significant risk to parts of Mexico and south Texas in the days ahead.
