DRY PATTERN LOCALLY THRU THE WEEKEND; WATCHING TROPICS EARLY NEXT WEEK… Mostly sunny skies are expected today, tomorrow, and into the weekend. High temperatures will be in the upper-80s and near 90° today. Any showers or storms that develop later today will almost certainly be near or south of the I-10 corridor. High temperatures will remain around the 90 degree mark this weekend. Looking ahead to next week, we will need to monitor the area of low pressure that is slated to develop in the western Caribbean Sea.

TROPICS: DISTURBANCE LIKELY TO DEVELOP IN CARIBBEAN… The National Hurricane Center indicates there is a 30% chance of a tropical storm developing in the western Caribbean Sea in the middle part of the upcoming week. It is still far too early to know where this system will end up, but Gulf of Mexico impacts may be possible. The upper-level steering pattern suggests the eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico region (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida) may have more problems, but it is too early to determine which of these states (if any) will have problems. I will have updates posted throughout the weekend in the RedZone Weather app.

APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner) and tap the Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.

See all the details in your Thursday morning RedZone Weather forecast video. Have a great day!
