RAIN CLEARS OUT TODAY; EXCELLENT FALL WEATHER THIS WEEKEND; PTC19 IN CARIBBEAN… Rain continues to rapidly clear out of our local area to the east on this Thursday. Clouds will exit the region from west to east over the next few hours. Cooler, drier air is filtering in from the northwest. High temperatures will be in the mid-70s this afternoon. Overnight lows will be in the 50s in most spots tonight with 40s likely closer to the U.S. Highway 84 corridor. We have a picture perfect, fall-like weekend on tap with high temperatures slated to be in the 70s with overnight lows in the 40s region wide by Saturday morning. We’ll also be keeping an eye on Potential Tropical Cyclone 19, located in the western Caribbean Sea.
GLORIOUS FALL WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND… Ample sunshine is expected as we go into the upcoming weekend. High temperatures will be around 73° on Saturday and around 76° on Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the mid- to upper-40s all the way down to the coast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Plenty of sunshine is likely each day.
POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE 19 (SOON-TO-BE SARA) IN CARIBBEAN SEA… The tropical disturbance we have been tracking over the last few days has prompted a Hurricane Watch for parts of Honduras this morning. The National Hurricane Center initiated advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 yesterday evening. This system will likely become a tropical storm soon. When that happens, the system will take the name, “Sara.” The latest guidance for PTC19/Sara shows the system remaining quite close to the coast of Honduras over the next few days, through the weekend. This proximity to land will likely inhibit significant development. PTC19 is expected to move toward Mexico and Belize early next week before making landfall along the Yucatan Peninsula. Beyond that, it is too early to speculate about specifics as far as where the system ultimately ends up. The latest trends suggest the system may not last very long once making landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula. Another scenario shows the system ramping up to hurricane status in the Gulf before moving toward the Florida Peninsula. I will have updates posted throughout the weekend about this system in the RedZone Weather app.
