Strong thunderstorms are happening near Pensacola, the Garcon Point Bridge, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Navarre, Mary Esther, Destin, Laurel Hill, and Florala.
These showers and thunderstorms are moving slowly to the southwest, dumping heavy amounts of rain and producing a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning.
Most of the showers and storms today will occur to the east of I-65. Widespread severe weather issues are not expected and any storms that do briefly become severe will produce gusty winds. The tornado threat today is negligible.
