Thunderstorms are quickly firing up across portions of south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Friday afternoon. As of 1:41PM, storms are in progress near Appleton, Cohassett Creek, Canoe, Munson, Allentown, Pace, and DeFuniak Springs… Storms are slowly moving east at 10-15mph. Gusty winds, heavy rain, and lots of lightning are possible in each storm. Widespread severe weather is not expected today across south Alabama and northwest Florida.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for much of central and north Alabama until 10PM due to a significant damaging wind/hail risk there today. See more details about that in the posts below.
