INCREASED RAIN CHANCES TODAY… Many showers and thunderstorms are likely to form in the heat of the day across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Monday. We’ve got an increased amount of moisture in place in the atmosphere over our area today. That will pave the way for the storms that fire up today to produce quite a bit of heavy rain, lots of lightning, and gusty winds in the stronger storms.

NEXT FEW DAYS… Increased moisture will lead to increased rain chances today (Monday), tomorrow, and on Wednesday with scattered thunderstorms likely each afternoon and evening. Widespread severe weather won’t happen, but storms could definitely “pack a punch” with plenty of lightning and very heavy downpours of rain.

TROPICS QUIET… What’s left of Tropical Storm Beryl is racing toward Newfoundland, Canada before moving out into the open waters of the northern Atlantic Ocean. The rest of the tropics, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, are quiet and are slated to remain quiet over the next 7 days. Good news!
