ISOLATED SHOWERS POPPING UP… Storms are getting an early start in some spots across south central Alabama and northwest Florida. We note a few downpours of heavy rain are happening near Red Level, Fairfield, and Loango in Covington County. Showers are also happening near Eglin AFB, Niceville, and Fort Walton Beach in southern Okaloosa and Walton counties.
I expect more showers and thunderstorms to develop in the hours ahead across the region. Most of us should be dry throughout the evening, especially across west Alabama, but inevitably some of us will have scattered storms. Be ready for isolated downpours!
