LOW-END SEVERE RISK CONTINUES OVER NEXT FEW HOURS… Strong thunderstorms are happening across coastal stretches of Alabama and northwest Florida on this Sunday evening. At the time this video is being produced (5:35PM), very heavy rain, thunder, and lightning are happening near Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key, Foley, Allentown, Whiting Field, Harold, Crestview, Milligan, and Deerland.

WHAT TO EXPECT… This batch of storms currently moving across the southern half of our local area will continue to push eastward. At this time, no other convection seems to be firing over west Alabama or southeast Mississippi. This means we may be able to give an “all clear” as early as 8PM. If any severe weather does happen, it will likely be brief and highly isolated. A brief, spin-up tornado is still possible, but the chance seems to be lessening somewhat.

I’ll have further updates this evening here in the RedZone Weather app (redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download). If tornado warning coverage becomes necessary, we will stream that live across our social platforms and in the app. Have a good evening!
