COLD, MISERABLE DAY… Scattered showers continue to move eastward into south Alabama and northwest Florida. There is a pretty steep thermal gradient in place across our region today. Communities farther inland like Brewton, Evergreen, Monroeville, Greenville, Andalusia, and Thomasville are stuck in the 40s with light to moderate rain happening.

Areas farther to the south like Pensacola and Gulf Shores are almost to the 60 degree mark. Rain will continue over the next few hours and will increase in coverage across the area.

SEVERE RISK LOWER… The Storm Prediction Center has trimmed back much of our area OUT of the Level 1 (out of 5) marginal risk zone. If any strong storms happen this evening, they will be confined almost certainly to the beaches. We’ll keep monitoring radar trends and bring you the latest here in the RedZone Weather app.
