VERY HEAVY RAIN IN WEST ALABAMA… It can’t be stressed enough that if you’re in Clarke, Washington, or Choctaw counties in west Alabama, please stay off the roads if you can. An extreme flash flooding event is ongoing with very heavy rain continuing to fall. This line of intense storms and heavy rain is SLOWLY moving eastward. Heavy rain will begin shortly across NW Mobile County. In addition, more heavy rain will spread into Monroe County over the next hour or so.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AHEAD OF LINE… Scattered small rain showers are happening ahead of the main line of storms. You’ve probably heard rain over the last few minutes if you’re near Crestview, Brewton, Greenville, Chapman, Andalusia, Horn Hill, Jay, Berrydale, Florala, or Perdido Key. Those are the communities currently experiencing rain due to these small showers. The big rain will happen later this morning in these locales when the main line of storms moves through.
