STORMS LIKELY THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON… The leading edge of storms out ahead of a cold front will push throguh south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. While the Storm Prediction Center has downgraded the marginal, Level 1 risk down to the “General Thunderstorms” category for much of our area, I can’t rule out a few stronger storms in the line of storms that moves by. Widespread and long-lasting severe weather is not expected today. The very low-end risk for severe storms will end once the main line of storms passes through your specific location. Rain will likely linger into the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures are reaching their peak for the day and will steadily fall over the next 24 hours until we reach Wednesday morning, when the thermometer bottoms out around 40°. We’re also looking ahead to Friday when we could have another round of strong storms. Let’s talk details…

NICE WEDNESDAY AHEAD… Rain will be long gone by Wednesday morning as we start off in the low-40s. Partly cloudy skies are expected with high temperatures in the mid-60s. No rain issues are expected on Wednesday.

CLOUDS INCREASE THURSDAY… Cloud coverage will increase and we could have a few showers around late on Thursday ahead of our next storm system set to move by on Friday. No severe weather issues are expected on Thursday. Highs will peak around 68°.

MORE STORMS ON FRIDAY… Another cold front is slated to move through our area on Friday. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Storm Prediction Center introduces a Level 1 or Level 2 severe weather risk for this system as parameters look at least marginally favorable for a few strong storms. High temperatures will be in the low-70s with dewpoint temperatures surging into the 60s. Just how much the atmosphere can destabilize is the big question at this point, and this very well could end up being a classic “high shear, low CAPE” winter severe weather event setting up. We’ll keep you posted about the latest in the RedZone Weather app over the next few days. Be sure to check back with me for the latest in the days ahead.

EARLY LOOK AT THE WEEKEND… The upcoming weekend looks seasonal, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Mostly sunny skies are likely on Saturday before clouds increase yet again on Sunday ahead of another rain chance in the early part of next week.

I’ll have updates this morning in the RedZone Weather app as needed. Let me know if you have any weather-related questions. See all the graphics and details in your Tuesday #rzw forecast video… Have a great day!
