SUNNY DAYS THROUGH SUNDAY; COOL, DRY THURSDAY… Dry weather is here! After weeks of rain and active weather, we get a break starting today extending until at least Sunday if not Monday. Temperatures will remain QUITE chilly today with most spots not getting out of the mid-50s. You’ll certainly want to keep the jackets handy today! The good news is full sunshine is expected throughout the day. Clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to drop quickly. We’ll be in the 40s this evening ahead of 30s likely overnight. Temperatures will gradually rebound as we go into the upcoming weekend. Our next chance of rain happens late Monday evening into Tuesday as the next area of low pressure approaches from the west. Early forecast guidance points to another inch or two of rain. Just because we’re getting a streak of dry days, don’t think we’re going to be getting into a drought. That is certainly not the case. Rain returns next week. Let’s talk details.

COOL THURSDAY; LOWS NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TONIGHT… Full sunshine is expected throughout the day on this Thursday. High temperatures will peak in the 53-56° range this afternoon with values on the higher side of that range likely near the immediate coast. If you are headed out to an event this evening, keep the jackets handy! Temperatures will quickly fall into the 40s around sunset and be chilly this evening. Temps fall to around 30 degrees by daybreak on Friday morning. If you have tender outdoor plants or vegetation, be sure to take appropriate freeze precautions.

SUNNY & COOL FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY… Sunny skies during the day and clear skies at night are ahead for the weekend. High temperatures rise to around 60 degrees Friday afternoon. We’ll be in the mid-60s Saturday afternoon and approaching 70° in some spots by Sunday afternoon. There could be a few clouds moving in late in the evening hours of Sunday. No major weather impacts are expected this weekend.

SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATE MONDAY… Rain will become possible yet again on Monday, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours. Our area will be in a warm sector out ahead of a developing cold front to our west. This will allow showers to happen Monday evening ahead of more widespread rain and potentially a few thunderstorms midweek.

CHANCE OF SHOWERS & STORMS NEXT WEEK… Showers and thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday as a cold front gets set to move by. There is a chance that we could be dealing with a few strong to potentially severe storms during this timeframe, although it is far too early to give any realistic details at this point. Something to monitor over the next few days!
