GORGEOUS SUNDAY; RAIN POSSIBLE IN DAYS AHEAD… Talk about a beautiful day! We have plenty of sunshine in place across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Sunday. Sunset will happen at 6:52PM now that we are in Daylight Saving Time. Temperatures are peaking near 70° this afternoon. This is just about as nice of a weather day as one can expect for early March. Get outside and enjoy it as we have clouds returning on Monday ahead of more rain possible at times on Tuesday. For the first time in what seems like quite awhile, we have no formal risks of severe weather this week! Let’s look at all of your forecast details.

INCREASING CLOUDINESS ON MONDAY… Vast majority of us will remain dry on Monday, but you will notice cloud coverage increasing across the region. High temperatures on Monday will peak in the low-70s. I cannot completely rule out a few showers, primarily west of the Alabama River, in parts of west Alabama Monday afternoon into the evening hours. I’m confident, however, that most locales across the region will remain dry.

SHOWERS AT TIMES ON TUESDAY… It seems like the greatest chance of rain through Friday will happen during the daytime hours on Tuesday. I am not expecting an “all day washout” but there will be scattered showers and maybe a few thunderstorms in place on Tuesday. The overall risk of strong to severe thunderstorms remains low. Temperatures will surge into the mid- to upper-70s on Tuesday. Those milder temperatures are here to stay! Some spots may hit the 80 degree mark by Saturday afternoon.

RAIN CHANCES & WARMER TEMPS WEDNESDAY THRU FRIDAY… Rain chances will remain low, but not entirely zero, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There could be a few isolated showers around each day as we will be in a warm, humid, unsettled air mass. Temperatures will be in the upper-70s each afternoon with morning lows near 60°. There is a good chance that warmer temps are here to stay, with only cool shots of air from now until we go into summer.

APP… If you haven’t already, be sure to download the free RedZone Weather app to keep up with all the latest information on the world of weather in south Alabama and northwest Florida. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download.
