THANKSGIVING DAY SHOWERS POSSIBLE; MORE RAIN THIS WEEKEND… Happy Thanksgiving! What a privilege it is to live in a nation where we have a holiday celebrating gratitude and thankfulness! Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible on this Thanksgiving Day this morning extending into the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will peak in the upper-70s today. Severe weather is not expected today.

UNSETTLED PATTERN TO CONTINUE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY… Scattered areas of rain and storms will be possible on Friday and Saturday. While severe weather is not expected, heavy rain could be possible at times.

HIGHEST RAIN CHANCES ON SUNDAY… Heavy rain and thunderstorms will be possible on Sunday. There is a strong indication that Sunday has the makings of “an all day washout” type event with 1-3″ of rain in total being possible. Rain could be heavy at times. There also could be a chance of a few stronger storms involved. The heavy rain and storms will be due in part to an approaching strong cold front. We will continue to monitor this possibility and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.

SHARPLY COOLER ON MONDAY… The coolest air of the current cold season so far will move into our area on Monday behind an advancing cold front. High temperatures on Monday will be in the 50s. Overnight lows on Monday and Tuesday will be below freezing (32 degrees) in many spots. Some spots inland may end up with lows in the upper-20s.

LOW PRESSURE AREA SOUTHEAST OF BERMUDA… The pesky low pressure area we have been tracking in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean southeast of Bermuda continues to slowly move eastward. Regardless of if this system develops into a subtropical storm, direct impacts for Alabama and northwest Florida are NOT expected. There is only a 10% chance of development. From NHC: “A frontal low pressure system is located several hundred miles southeast of Bermuda. The low is forecast to interact with an upper-level trough today and could slowly acquire some subtropical characteristics during the next day or two while it drifts south-southwestward. Environmental conditions are expected to become unfavorable for further development by the weekend.” NHC is also suggesting a non-tropical area of low pressure may form over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean during the weekend.
