RAIN MOVES OUT TODAY; COLD MORNINGS AHEAD… Rain is slated to move out later this morning as an area of low pressure moves northeast and away from our local area. There have been some heavier pockets of rain this morning but fortunately, higher instability values remain offshore. Thus, we have not had severe weather issues with this passing weather system. Much cooler air will wrap around the area of low pressure and move into our area later this evening. High temperatures today will be near 60 in most spots by 3PM. Get ready for another cold couple of nights with lows projected to be below freezing by Friday morning. Our next rain chance sets up Saturday evening. Below are all of your Wednesday morning forecast notes.

NEAR FREEZING TEMPS TONIGHT; BELOW FREEZING TEMPS FRIDAY MORNING… Clearing skies will allow temperatures to drop well into the 30s early Thursday morning. Most spots will have an overnight low in the 33-36° range. I can’t completely rule out the possibility of a few locales across the inland areas of south Alabama getting to 31 or 32 by daybreak tomorrow, but clearly the colder temps will happen on Friday morning. That is when most of us will be at or below the freezing mark. We’re forecasting most spots to have an overnight low near 30 by 6AM Friday. That means some areas will be in the upper-20s farther inland.

NEXT RAIN CHANCE SATURDAY NIGHT… Thursday and Friday will be dry. Much of the day on Saturday should be dry as well. Our next chance of rain happens Saturday evening, likely after sunset in many spots. Rain chances look to be at their peak from 11PM Saturday to 8AM Sunday. Severe weather parameters remain low for Saturday evening into Sunday.

LINGERING SHOWERS SUNDAY… Scattered showers may linger into the late morning hours of Sunday and perhaps even into the afternoon hours. Just like Saturday, high temperatures on Sunday will be in the 60s with morning lows in the mid-40s.

SEASONAL DAYS EARLY NEXT WEEK… The start of the week of Christmas looks dry on Monday into Tuesday. Other than a few passing clouds, quiet weather will be in place with seasonal temperatures. Highs will be in the mid-60s with lows in the lower-40s.
