SUNNY & COOLER TODAY; RAIN RETURNS SUNDAY… Plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures are expected on this Thursday. Most spots are starting the day in the 40s and upper-30s inland. Temperatures will rise into the upper-50s this afternoon. Tonight will likely be the coldest night of the next 7 to 10 nights with overnight lows likely to be near or just below the freezing mark by daybreak on Friday. We’re also looking ahead to the weekend when we could have another round of rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms by Sunday morning. Below are all of your full forecast details.

LOWS NEAR OR JUST BELOW FREEZING FRIDAY MORNING… Temperatures tonight into Friday morning will be chilly. We’ll be in the 40s by 9PM tonight with 30s expected by 11PM. Overnight lows on Friday morning will be in the 29-33° range. Most spots north of U.S. Highway 84 will briefly be below freezing with areas closer to the coast likely to be just above freezing.

SUNNY, COOL FRIDAY… Full sunshine is likely on Friday with high temperatures near 60. There could be a few clouds streaming in from the southwest by the time we get to Friday evening.

DRY SATURDAY MORNING; SHOWERS POSSIBLE SATURDAY EVENING… Southerly winds will continue to usher in warmer, more humid air from the Gulf on Saturday. While the morning hours of Saturday are expected to be dry, there is a growing chance we could see a few showers after sunset. Highs on Saturday will rise into the upper-60s.

RAIN AT TIMES SUNDAY AHEAD OF COLD FRONT… Rain is likely at times on Sunday, particularly in the morning hours. Temperatures will rise into the low-70s by the middle of the day. For now, it looks like this will primarily be a rain event. There could be some embedded thunderstorms, but severe weather remains unlikely.

SEASONAL FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK… Monday, Tuesday, into Wednesday look fairly seasonal with highs expected to be in the 50s and near 60 by Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 30s. We could see a few showers returning to the area by Wednesday, but confidence in that idea remains low.
