SUNNY & MILD TODAY; NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN THIS WEEKEND… Get set for a gorgeous Tuesday! High temperatures will rise into the upper-60s this afternoon with some spots potentially hitting the 70 degree mark by 3PM. Full sunshine is expected throughout the day. Clear skies are likely tonight with overnight lows likely to be in the upper-30s and near 40 in many locales. We get another sunny day on Wednesday before clouds start increasing on Thursday ahead of a few showers on Friday. The weekend will feature a few showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms. A few more Tuesday forecast details are below.

MAINLY SUNNY THROUGH TOMORROW… High pressure will stay in control of our weather pattern through Wednesday into Thursday, meaning our area will be sunny and dry. Temperatures will rise into the low-70s in some areas tomorrow. By Thursday, most spots will be in the low-70s. Temperatures will be running approximately 10-15 degrees ABOVE our climatological norms over the next few days. This is certainly a contrast from last week when our entire area was running well below our norms for this time of year.

RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND… Multiple passing weather systems will bring chances of rain to our region this weekend. There could be a few thunderstorms involved Sunday or Monday. We will need to monitor for a potential for strong to severe storms this weekend as there will be plenty of moisture and at least some surface-based instability for storms to utilize.

SEVERE WEATHER SEASON KICKS OFF MARCH 1… Most tornadoes in Alabama and northwest Florida happen in the months of March and April. It is critical that we are prepared for the potential of severe weather in the weeks ahead. Now is the time to review your severe weather preparation kit that should be in your severe weather safe place. Have a plan and know where you would go and what you would do if an imminent severe weather threat becomes possible for our local area.
