SUNNY THURSDAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT… Full sunshine is expected across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. High temperatures will peak in the upper-60s and near 70 in most communities. Mostly clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to drop into the mid-40s by daybreak on Friday. While we may have a few showers around on Friday night into the early part of Saturday morning, I see no signs of severe weather over the next 6-7 days. Great news! A few more Thursday morning forecast details are below.

CLOUDS INCREASE TOMORROW AHEAD OF SHOWERS INTO EARLY SATURDAY… An area of low pressure that developed across the southern Plains well to our west will move southeast during the daytime hours of Friday. This system will usher in higher moisture amounts that will lead to scattered showers becoming possible late Friday evening into the early Saturday morning. Most of the rain will happen after sunset on Friday and before sunrise on Saturday, although there could be a few lingering showers after daybreak on Saturday morning (especially on the eastern side of our local area).

MAINLY SUNNY THIS WEEKEND… After the rain moves out early Saturday morning, skies should clear fairly quickly. This means that sunshine should prevail for much of Saturday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are likely on Sunday as well. High temperatures will be in the mid-60s on both Saturday and on Sunday with overnight lows in the low- to mid-40s.

SUNSHINE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK… Our streak of nice, quiet weather looks to continue into early next week. Mostly sunny skies are expected Monday ahead of a few clouds passing through on Tuesday. We will have a warming trend in the temperature department next week with highs starting on Monday in the low-70s, rising to the mid- to upper-70s later in the week.
