SUNNY, NICE MONDAY; QUIET WEATHER WEEK… We are kicking off what is set to be our most quiet weather week of the year so far in 2021! High temperatures on this Monday will be in the low- to mid-70s. Warming temperatures are likely over the next few days and most spots should end up closer to the 80 degree mark in the afternoon hours of Friday and Saturday. Mostly sunny skies are expected through at least Friday ahead of our next rain chance setting up late Saturday into Sunday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. A couple more forecast notes are below.
WARMING TREND OVER NEXT FEW DAYS… High temperatures will rise to around 80 by the upcoming weekend. Before we get there, we have one more chilly night tonight with overnight lows expected to be near 40. Overnight lows will be near and above 50 by Wednesday morning, extending into Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE: SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… Forecast confidence is high through Friday with no major deviations expected, but we note that forecast confidence drops considerably as we get into the latter half of the upcoming weekend as our next weather system approaches from the northwest. An area of low pressure with an accompanying cold front will move across the Mississippi Valley region before approaching our area on Sunday. This system will likely bring cooler temperatures and higher rain chances to our area, although details remain scarce at this time. This is something we will be monitoring closely over the next few days. It remains way too early to know if severe weather issues will be possible locally with this system.
