HIGH WIND WARNING AS STRONG WINDS HAPPENING LOCALLY… The National Weather Service has issued an uncommon High Wind Warning valid until 9PM for all parts of Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia (AL), and Escambia (FL) counties. An area of rain developed earlier and has since moved to our southeast. Surface observations point to wind gusts up to 40 mph over the last hour on the northeastern side of this mass of precipitation. High winds of 40 to 60 mph will persist over the next few hours in the wake of the dissipating band of thunderstorms.

WHAT TO EXPECT – TONIGHT… After the gusty winds subside later this evening, a few showers will be possible overnight. Rain coverage will increase late tomorrow morning as another MCS (mesoscale convective system) develops to our west and ultimately spreads across our area.

LOW-END, LEVEL 1 (OUT OF 5) SEVERE WEATHER RISK WEDNESDAY… The Storm Prediction Center includes part of our local area in their low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk valid for Wednesday into the evening hours. Parts of Baldwin, Mobile, and Escambia (FL) counties are involved in this low-end risk zone with the remainder of our region remaining in the “general thunderstorms” zone where severe storms are far less likely. These communities are involved in the low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) risk: Mobile, Prichard, Saraland, Satsuma, Creola, Mt. Vernon, Axis, Citronelle, Chunchula, Wilmer, West Mobile, Theodore, Bayou La Batre, Coden, Alabama Port, Sunny Cove, Navco, Dauphin Island, Spanish Fort, Montrose, Daphne, Fairhope, Point Clear, Magnolia Springs, Elberta, Foley, Summerdale, Robertsdale, Bon Secour, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, Elsanor, Loxley, Bay Minette, Stapleton, Stockton, Perdido, Gateswood, Pensacola, Warrington, NAS Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Perdido Key, Beulah, Bellview, Cantonment, Gonzalez, and surrounding areas.
