MORE THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY TODAY… Occasional rain and thunderstorms are expected on this Tuesday. Odds are high that most spots across our region will have rain at some point before the end of the day. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s today. Widespread severe weather is not expected today, but some of the thunderstorms that develop may produce cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds, and torrential downpours of rain. It looks like the next few days may feature more in the way of thunderstorms each day. Next week, however, will likely be drier. A few more Tuesday morning forecast details are below.
HIGH RAIN CHANCES FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK… Rain and storms will continue to be likely each day through Friday. Most of the showers and storms each day will likely happen in the afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain will be possible at times. High temperatures will be in the upper-80s with morning lows in the low-70s.
PATTERN CHANGE POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK… If you are tired of the everyday occurrence of rain and thunderstorms, it looks like our local area may finally get a drier (and hotter) pattern starting next week. Rain chances are expected to be lower (not zero, but lower) in response to drier air being in place across our region, compared to the copious amounts of atmospheric moisture that we have in place this week. This pattern change will also likely mean hotter temperatures, with some spots likely to be in the 90s by midweek next week.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… No tropical storms are expected to develop in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean over the next 5-7 days. The medium-range models in the 8-14 day range continue to show quiet conditions across the basin, as well. Good news!
