OUTLOOK UPGRADE: SEVERE WEATHER RISK INCREASES FOR FRIDAY; TORNADOES POSSIBLE… The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded much of south-central and east Alabama into a Level 3 (out of 5) severe weather risk valid for Friday, May 6. This outlook upgrade is driven by the increasing risk of tornadoes and damaging straight line winds. It appears the morning hours into the early afternoon hours will be the timeframe when severe storms will be most likely to happen across south Alabama and northwest Florida. We encourage everyone to have a way to hear urgent weather warnings on Friday. As always, if and when tornado warnings are needed for our local area, we will come on Facebook Live and YouTube Live to bring you the very latest information.

APP ALERTS… Many updates will be posted throughout the day in the RedZone Weather app. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Be sure to visit the Alerts tab (bottom right corner) and tap the large, yellow “Alert Settings” button to customize the alerts you’d like to receive from me. If you like a lot of info, be sure to toggle ON Low-Level Alerts.

I will have another detailed update on this developing severe weather potential posted later this evening. Have a nice Thursday afternoon!
