SUNNY, NICE MONDAY; RAIN TO RETURN MIDWEEK… We *finally* have some rain in the forecast! Wednesday is expected to be quite soggy across the region, specifically for communities closer to the coast, with upwards of 2-3″ of rainfall being possible. Before we get there, a nice, sunny Monday is in store for south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the upper-70s and near 80° today. Full sunshine is expected throughout the day.

INCREASING CLOUDINESS TOMORROW… Clouds will increase in coverage from west to east on Tuesday ahead of the chance of rain setting up for Wednesday. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the mid-80s. We are not expecting rain on Tuesday but that changes on Wednesday.

RAIN LIKELY WEDNESDAY… Confidence continues to grow that a good, steady rain will happen across parts of our local area on Wednesday. Most guidance points to the highest chances of rain happening near the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. This means the closer you are to the coast, the higher your specific rain chance will be on Wednesday. For now, severe weather seems unlikely on Wednesday. High temperatures on Wednesday will likely be surpassed by all of the clouds and rain around. Most spots will only peak in the mid-70s.

COLD FRONT TO MOVE BY LATER IN THE WEEK… Rain and thunderstorms will be possible on Thursday and Friday. For now, chances of rain and thunderstorms each day seem a bit lower compared to Wednesday. Highs will be in the upper-70s and near 80 on Thursday and Friday. Some of the high school football games across the region may be wet at times, although it is a bit too early for specifics.

DRY, NICE, COOLER WEEKEND… A cold front is slated to move by late Friday into early Saturday morning (similar to what happened last week) with temperatures slated to be in the upper-70s on Saturday. Overnight lows by Sunday morning will again be in the upper-40s and near 50°.

TROPICS: GULF OF MEXICO & CARIBBEAN SEA CONTINUE TO BE QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet for now. No tropical storms are expected to develop over the next 5-7 days in the Gulf of Mexico or the Caribbean Sea.

TROPICS: TROPICAL WAVE IN EASTERN ATLANTIC… The National Hurricane Center indicates there is an 80-90% chance of a named tropical storm forming in the eastern Atlantic Ocean in the days ahead as a tropical wave continues moving westward. This system poses no direct threat to land over the next 5 days.
