SUNSHINE TODAY; RAIN POSSIBLE FRIDAY MORNING… Sunshine is the word on this Wednesday with high temperatures slated to be in the mid-70s. Near perfect weather today across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Cloud coverage will increase tomorrow ahead of a few showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms being possible on Friday. Unfortunately, not every community across south Alabama and northwest Florida will have rain before the end of the day on Friday. Rain amounts will probably end up in the 0.1″ to 0.5″ range in most spots across the region.

DRIER, WARMER CONDITIONS THIS WEEKEND… High temperatures will be closer to the 80 degree mark on Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies each day.

TROPICAL UPDATE… The National Hurricane Center continues to indicate there is a high (80%) chance of a tropical depression or tropical storm forming in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean as a tropical wave continues moving westward. This feature is expected to approach the northern Lesser Antilles in 2-3 days. Most of the major global weather models indicate this system will turn to the north and recurve into the Atlantic Ocean, but that is far from a certainty at this point. The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days.
