INCREASING CLOUDINESS TODAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE… Cloud coverage will increase today across south Alabama and northwest Florida with a few showers being possible over the next 24 hours into Friday morning. Unfortunately, most communities will remain dry with only small chances of showers across the region. I cannot completely rule out a thunderstorm or two but MOST of the rain will happen in the form of isolated showers. No severe weather issues are expected today or tomorrow. High temperatures will be upper-70s and near 80° in most spots today.

WARM, DRY WEEKEND… High temperatures will be around the 80 degree mark on Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies each day. No rain is expected this weekend or early next week.

TROPICAL STORM TAMMY IN ATLANTIC… Advisories were initiated last evening on Tropical Storm Tammy, located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles in the central Atlantic Ocean. Tammy is moving westward right now but is expected to recurve northward into the Atlantic this weekend. Before that, however, the core of Tropical Storm Tammy is forecast to move through the Leeward Islands where Tropical Storm Watches are now in effect. Barbados, Dominica, and Martinique and Guadeloupe are involved in the Tropical Storm Watch. Tammy is not expected to ever directly impact Alabama or northwest Florida.

GULF OF MEXICO & CARIBBEAN SEA CONTINUE TO BE QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet for now. No tropical storms are expected to develop over the next 5-7 days in the Gulf of Mexico or the Caribbean Sea.
