NICE, WARM DAYS & COOL NIGHTS THIS WEEKEND… Skies are set to become mostly sunny later today with high temperatures in the low-80s across the region. We have a nice, dry weekend in store for our area despite the ongoing drought conditions poised to worsen in the days ahead. High temperatures will be in the low-80s this weekend and early next week with morning lows consistently in the 50s.

TROPICAL STORM TAMMY APPROACHING LESSER ANTILLES… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. We continue to track Tropical Storm Tammy, located a few hundred miles to the east of the northern Leeward Islands. Tammy is now explicitly forecast to become a hurricane while moving through the northern Lesser Antilles this weekend. A Hurricane Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning are in effect for parts of the Lesser Antilles ahead of the arrival of Tammy. Tammy is forecast to turn north and then ultimately to the northeast next week, recurving into the open waters of the north-central Atlantic Ocean.
