SUNNY, NICE MONDAY; RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE LATER THIS WEEK… High temperatures will approach or briefly hit the 80 degree mark this afternoon with mostly sunny skies likely throughout the day on this Monday. No rain is expected today or tomorrow but we are looking ahead to the latter part of the week when multiple chances of rain and thunderstorms will happen.

BEAUTIFUL WEATHER TODAY AND TUESDAY; HIGHS NEAR 80… The last time our area experienced high temperatures in the 80s was in November 2023, meaning it has been over 100 days since temperatures were as high as 80 degrees. While much of the eastern continental United States (specifically the Northeast and Midwest regions) have had one of their warmest winters ever recorded, the winter months locally have been just a bit BELOW our climatological norms. High temperatures today will put the 100+ day streak of no 80 degree days in jeopardy with most spots expected to be at or just above the 80 degree mark this afternoon. If the streak doesn’t conclude today, there is a very high chance it will tomorrow as most spots locally will be in the low-80s on Tuesday.

CLOUDS INCREASE WEDNESDAY; SHOWERS WEDNESDAY NIGHT… Cloud coverage will increase across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Wednesday ahead of a few showers becoming possible Wednesday evening into the overnight hours. No severe storms are expected Wednesday night. High temperatures during the daytime hours of Wednesday will be near the 80 degree mark. Colder air filters in behind an advancing cold front Wednesday night.

MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF RAIN & STORMS INTO THE WEEKEND… The first half of this week will be nice and warm while the second half of the week into the upcoming weekend will be cool and rather unsettled. Multiple chances of rain and thunderstorms will happen on Friday and Saturday. There is a chance we have some strong storms around at times this weekend, but details remain a bit murky for now. This is something I will be monitoring over the next few days.
