SHOWERS TO REMAIN HIGHLY ISOLATED TODAY AND INTO WEEKEND; WARM TEMPS… Our weather pattern will essentially be “on repeat” today, tomorrow, and on Sunday. While rain chances remain quite low for any given spot across the region, there is a low (<10%) chance of a few showers through Sunday each day. Widespread severe storms are not expected locally this weekend. Our next significant rain chance looks to happen in about one week on Friday, May 10. ONE OR TWO SHOWERS POSSIBLE EACH DAY… Today, tomorrow, and Sunday will be dry for nearly all communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida. There will be a few, select “lucky locations” that receive a brief shower or two before the end of the day, but again, keep in mind that MOST of us across the region will be dry for the duration of the weekend. High temperatures will be in the upper-80s with morning lows in the mid-60s.

HOT TEMPERATURES COMING NEXT WEEK… Increasingly warm temperatures are expected as we get into the middle and latter parts of the upcoming week. High temperatures through Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper-80s and near 90°. Wednesday, however, will feature low-90s with mid-90s being possible on Thursday and Friday of the upcoming week. Overnight lows will be closer to the 70 degree mark by Thursday morning, making it really feel like summer across the region.

HURRICANE SEASON KICKS OFF IN JUST A FEW WEEKS… The official start of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season happens on Saturday, June 1. I will begin posting daily tropical updates in each morning forecast discussion beginning on May 15. For now, the tropics remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the weekend or into next week.
